Opis wykładu:
I will survey some geometrical properties of many-dimensional random walks, focusing on the convex hull of the trajectory and some of its properties as a random convex set. In particular I will talk about large-time asymptotics for quantities like the perimeter and area for the planar case, and discuss laws of large numbers, distributional limits, and iterated logarithm laws for these quantities. The planned outline of topics is:
• Introduction and some motivation
• Random walks in Euclidean space
• Some convex geometry
• Strong laws
• Weak convergence
• Iterated-logarithm laws
